‘HUMPTY TRUMPTY HAS A GREAT FALL’
On 21st August at 6.30pm there will be a total solar eclipse at 28 degrees 53’ Leo. This position in the heavens is known as the Royal Star and is an indication that a world leader or member of the Royal family will fall from power or be significantly overshadowed.
The Sun represents a leader, Leo the lion is the King of the Jungle, and the fixed star Regulus is known as ‘the Royal star’. These three signs together repeat the messenger that someone in a position of power and authority, a World Leader or member of the Royal family will be ‘eclipsed’. When the Sun hidden, eclipsed, we cannot see it’s light, it is weak in this position, overpowered by the Moon.
Eclipses follow a cycle of approximately 18 years and therefore belong to a ‘family’ which astrologers call the ‘saros cycle’ of eclipses that repeat over and over. Looking back over the eclipses that belong to the same Saros Cycle in the past can help us understand the nature of that eclipse family. Some Saros Cycle eclipse families are more dramatic than others and each family has it’s own theme or themes.
This Solar Eclipse belongs to the saros cycle numbered 145 and it is noteworthy that under this cycle Prince Charles and Princess Diana got married back in 1981. I think it would be fair to say that Diana was in the limelight that day and that she stayed centre stage from that day on. Prince Charles as a private person, less comfortable in the public eye (Scorpio) may well have preferred it that way. So we can see in this example astrology in action with the Moon representing the female principle overshadowing, hiding or sheltering the male principle, the Sun.
Eclipses seem particularly important in the timing of Royal events. Prince Charles was born two weeks after an eclipse and married (both times) on an eclipse. His second marriage to Camilla was delayed a day because of the death of the Pope on the very day of the eclipse. The pope’s death on the eclipse is another example of a world leader (in this case religious) being eclipsed, alongside the Royal marriage being eclipsed by the pope’s death. A double whammy!
Princess Diana was born on an eclipse, married on an eclipse and fatefully died on an eclipse. Prince William, the eldest son of Charles and Diana was also born on an eclipse on the summer solstice June 21st 1982. His wife the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was born January 9th 1982 (you’ve guessed it!) on the day of an Eclipse.
Technically what is happening at a Solar Eclipse is the Moon stands between the Sun and Earth, cutting off the light of the Sun so we can’t see the Sun.
Traditionally eclipses indicate a time of change, a change in the natural order of things, a time of endings and beginnings. A significant time for us all. This eclipse is likely to affect The Royal family and also the World Leaders.
It is interesting to note the powerful effect of this particular eclipse cycle (145) on the Presidents of the United States:
July 9th 1945
One week before the US detonated the first atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
In the same year President Roosevelt died.
July 20th 1963
When the first person x test pilot Joe Walker flew a plane through space.
NASA launched Syncom 2, the world’s first geostationary satellite and the forerunner of satellite television.
In the same year President Kennedy was assassinated.
July 31st 1981
Prince Charles married Princess Diana.
That year there was an assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan
August 11th, 1999
Vladimir Putin was appointed the new Prime Minister of Russia.
In the same year Impeachment proceedings against President Clinton.
August 21st 2017 This forthcoming Solar Eclipse at 28 degrees 53’ of Leo makes direct contact with President Donald Trump’s Birth Chart. It falls right beside his Ascendant at 29 degrees 55' Leo and just a few degrees away from his Mars in Leo. When an eclipse falls so closely to a person’s Sun, Moon or Ascendant we can expect BIG changes for that person in the coming year. When that person is the President of the United States, and this particular eclipse cycle 145, has a history of coinciding with major changes to the Presidents of the United States we can certainly expect some major changes.
I believe this eclipse will present a strong case for astrology!
The effects of a Solar eclipse can last for a whole year but experience has shown me that there is often an event close to the actual day of the eclipse which is impressive. A week or two either side of the eclipse should be interesting, to say the least!
No one can say for certain what will happen with this forthcoming eclipse but the astrological community is buzzing about it, wondering if it will indicate political change, a new World leader, a Royal event? I have a gut feeling that something concerning a world leader might be ‘covered up’ at this time, or something that has been covered up in the past may now be brought to light, to the public eye…
For me the evidence speaks for itself looking back at the recorded history of this eclipse cycle 145, my predictions are that we will receive some Royal news in the UK and that we can expect some major changes regarding the leadership of the US.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU? ....
For us as individuals the eclipse will bring new opportunities and wake up calls. Read your Sun sign for a glimpse into the area of life most likely to be affected and if you know your Rising Sign (student astrologers!) read that too because that will also be helpful.
If you are one of the fixed, loyal signs of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio then this eclipse will affect you more than the other signs. You can prepare for this shift in energy by thinking about what areas of life you would like to change. Be prepared to let go of something that has been holding you back and look forward to the hidden treasure that every eclipse holds, a bright new beginning in one area of your life…..
FIRE SIGNS
ARIES, a romantic affair may be tested. If love is true, there's nothing to fear. The demands of your larger goals in life may have been eclipsing your pleasure-seeking activities. Also possible, your children may be going through their own changes and "stages", and need more attention now, or a child could be experiencing a major new beginning. Some might have a child. A new creative project might begin now.
LEO, it may be time to change your image or redefine your personality in some manner. Finding a balance between autonomy and dependence is what this eclipse is about for you. Your emotions are on your sleeve right now. It is a good time to put your needs first, but doing so with respect for others will take you further. Whether you can succeed as a leader is "tested" right now. There may be some drama involving a significant other.
SAGITTARIUS, your personal beliefs may be tested. Your hunger for adventure or learning may come into focus. All of the attention you've been giving to mundane affairs has you wondering when you're going to have some fun. You want to take a leap of faith now. There may be an important beginning or culmination in education. If you are in business, a writer, or the like, you might reach a wider audience.
EARTH SIGNS
TAURUS, domestic conditions are illuminated. House repairs, family dramas, and other such issues need serious attention. The demands of your personal life are now paramount. Striking a balance between energy spent on work and energy spent on domestic matters is essential now. Balanced attention to your public and personal lives is what you need to focus on. It's time to prioritize. A major career project can come to fruition or completion.
VIRGO, you may recognize an overwhelming need for rest and spiritual renewal. You've been busy with all sorts of everyday activities, deeply involved in your work and routines. It's time to balance your life with some down time--otherwise, you simply don't feel whole. There can be exposure of a private or even clandestine matter in some cases. Secrets can emerge at this time, or there can be a desire to do something private, secret, or risky. A work project can come to fruition.
CAPRICORN, some drama with regards to a spouse's income, or your taxes, debts, and investments, may occur on a mundane level. It may be time to settle some of your debts, financial or otherwise. What makes you feel comfortable and secure needs to be balanced with attention to other people's needs and comfort levels. There can be new money coming into your life.
AIR SIGNS
GEMINI, there may be some sort of drama surrounding communication, modes of transportation, schooling, mobility, neighbours, or siblings. Daily routines can change dramatically. There may be a major event in the life of a sibling. There could be a publishing offer or you might be in a position to promote yourself. Travel or education plans may come to fruition. LIBRA, friendships may be tested, or your relationship to groups or organizations. You're looking for validation from friends and group activities now. There can be a major event involving a child or a romantic partner, or a culmination of a creative project can occur at this time.
AQUARIUS, partnerships may be tested, but there is nothing to fear if the relationship is strong. The seventh house represents an important one-to-one relationship--a marriage partner, significant other, business partner, or an adversary. It's time to strike a balance between your own needs and those of another. It's time to compromise and negotiate. You might suddenly find yourself with more social opportunities, or you might acquire many new clients.
WATER SIGNS
CANCER, you may get a cosmic push to make necessary financial changes in your life. Sharing issues come into focus, as do issues of power--what's yours and what's mine. You're called to perform, possibly on a moment's notice, and it's best to keep your cool and do whatever you can to show your competence.
PISCES, there could be changes necessary in your job or health routines. You can use this surge of emotional energy to make positive changes to your routines. Do something to improve your work conditions if they are annoying you. Get going on your exercise or nutrition program that you know you have to do in order to feel more balanced. A work project or a job itself can begin or end now. A physical or mental health issue might come to light.
