This week I wanted to try to make a short video using my picture ‘The Goddess Weeps’ as the focal point. The video was to be about the destruction of the rain-forest and how Mother Earth is mourning the loss of animal and plant life.
I wanted to include music and managed to do this, adjusting the length of the video so it would fit in with the timing of the chant. I used a couple of movement tools, panning in and out of the image. I also inserted some text, to reinforce the words (and message) of the chant.
The chant, ‘Earth my Body, Water my Blood, Air my Breath and Fire my Spirit’ is a modern Pagan chant. It is about the elements that we are all made up of, and that the planet is also made up of. It is about us all being interconnected, to the land, to the planet, and to each other. Each element is vital and out of balance the elements are dangerous; like the fire causing destruction in the rain-forest.
