A collection of my short videos.

I made this short video during 2018. It is about the project 'Damsel in Distress' I was working on at the time. It reveals some of my sketchbook work, as well as the final maquette that I made from household materials.

The piece was inspired by the Japanese Artist, Tsukioka Yoshitoshi's exquisite artwork 'Lonely House' and my own experiences in the modelling and bondage world.

I added the track 'Tainted Love' which was recorded in 1981 by Soft Cell. A suitable piece, and favourite of mine.

This artwork was originally a pencil drawing of  Birkrigg Stone Circle in Ulverston; a special place for me, where I was 'handfasted' to my partner Mark. I added colour to the image digitally, using a website called 'Photomosh', and liked the effect.

I decided to add the owl digitally, using Photoshop to reference Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. At the time I was working on a project about Goddesses. Later, I discovered the phone app 'Pixaloop' and added the movement which creates the special effect of snow.

I made this little clip in 2019, to illustrate the joy I felt in my work as an artist. I was beginning to make links between my research and studio practice.  My work was becoming more cohesive and I was feeling good - I could really see things coming together!

The picture in the foreground was a 'work in progress' at the time, before the addition of melted wax and pigments.  The use of beeswax and the beehive hairstyle, both referenced the winged Goddess Melissa, the bee Goddess of work, community, order and sweetness.

This original painting was first drawn in pencil, then painted with watercolours. The scene is Eilean Donan Castle and it was made as a birthday gift for a special friend, who had been married in the castle.

I later added the bats to the scene, using Pixaloop to make it more dynamic. I also chose bats to reference the Greek Goddess Hecate, the triple Goddess of winter, witchcraft and magic.

The soundtrack used in this video was recorded by Bananarama in 1986. It is called 'Venus' and therefore makes a nice link to the 'Venus' Figurines that are featured in this piece.

I made this animation using GIFs of dancing 'Venus' Figurines. The GIFs were created by the artist Nina Paley. The figurines are representations of the Goddess, in her many aspects.

I edited the figurines in sequence. Then using a special effect, highlighted the womb area of the dancing goddess. This was to signify the magical ability of women, who can give life to so many things including; ideas, projects, relationships and babies.

I filmed the video against the backdrop of a triple moon artwork that I created using three wooden boards. The Moon is symbolic of the Moon Goddess and this arrangement of three moons together is the symbol for the triple Goddess;  Maiden, Mother and Crone.
