Great news! I've been invited to join with other local artists at HIVE, the gorgeous cafe in Blackpool town centre in an exhibition of 'lockdown' art. Each artist is contributing one piece only, that has been created during the lockdown period. Today is 'hand in' day and I will be handing in my latest artwork 'faery dreams'. I wanted to contribute some positive energy to the exhibition, to offer a message of hope and encouragement. I thought about what I had enjoyed during lockdown and what had helped me get through the experience. I had enjoyed connecting with nature, growing seeds in pots and hearing how nature was recovering around the world - wildlife was flourishing. I think a lot of people, like me, found comfort in nature, in everyday places like our gardens, yards and local parks. Places we normally take for granted. So for me this little faery symbolizes the magical power of nature, experienced and appreciated more intensely, while the world stood still.
