Today we learned about photographing our artworks, for our websites and promotional material. We used a good quality camera and Photoshop.
After the demonstration by our tutor, I photographed some of my recently created acrylic pour ‘planets’. Then I uploaded them onto the computer, to work with in RAW format.
After correcting the light balance using Photoshop and cropping them to size, I saved the images as small ‘j-pegs’. These will be suitable for on-line advertising, as they upload quickly. I also kept the larger images for further editing or printing. These could be used to create prints, cards or develop further with Photoshop or other digital tools.
This is obviously very useful. It enables me to show realistic images of my work, for on-line sales and promotional material. I have an art website and am in the process of joining saatchiart.com who sell your work for 35%. I will also be considering other on-line and physical places to sell my work.
I am also creating a collection of good quality images to show as my physical portfolio of artworks, specifically for a meeting I have in March at Lytham Heritage Centre about a solo exhibition in 2021.
