The Museum of Witchcraft, Boscastle

For many years I have wanted to visit this museum but as I live in the North of England the long and time consuming journey down to Cornwall has put me off. However, this year travel abroad is still restricted (post Covid) I decided it was 'now or never' and we combined a Cornwall and Glastonbury holiday really well.

Fortunately for me I have family down in Bristol which is half way to Cornwall for us, so we broke the journey going down with a night in Bristol. We stayed in a new (to us) hotel with this beautiful tree right outside the front door - wow!

We spent a few days in magical cornwall checking out King Arthurs Great Hall after our trip to Boscastle and I would recommend Peter Pracownik'sz fantastic shop/gallery in Tintagel if you're down that way and like dragons!

Here's what I wanted to show you though, to give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to visit the museum. I would highly recommend it. It is reasonably priced and packed full of interesting artefacts and possessions of the famous and infamous witches. It also includes information and items of interest in relation to the witch trials, folk magic and ceremonial magic too. The place has been divided up into different sections to help the viewer understand and put in context the fascination collection of spells, witches and magical items from around the world.

Maybe this will wet your appetite to make the journey? Maybe you've been already? All I know is I'm so pleased to have finally got there. I think you can tell by our smiles in this photo, that we really had a good time!
