Wednesday is the day associated with
the astrological signs of Gemini and
Virgo. Two signs that love to learn.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK ABOVE AND BELOW
Inspired by the ancient stone circle in Ulverston, Cumbria. This artwork started life as a simple watercolour painting. However with some digital magic it was transformed into the vibrant image you know see below.
The little film effect added above was created using 'pixaloop' a free phone app with lots of special effects.
The owl has been chosen for its connotations of wisdom and learning. The owl is associated with the Goddess Athena who is also believed to possess these qualities.

ABOUT THE GODDESS ATHENA

Origin: Greek
Attributes: learning, teaching and careers
Symbol: owl, shield
Stone/metal: hematite
Scent: olive or lavender

The great Goddess Pallas Athena was one of the major deities in the Olympian pantheon. She was born fully grown, armoured in gold and bearing a shield and spear. Athena was the personification of wise counsel, a guardian of humanity and her own city of Athens. She taught all the most important skills, so she became the patroness of teachers, students, craftspeople and all who learn.
She was guardian of artists and architects and all the arts of civilization were hers. Although she later became a goddess of battle and warfare, a great warrior and protector, she was never in a raging battle frenzy, she was the discipline and skill of a fully trained and well led army. Among her symbols is the owl, a bird of wisdom. Education is the sharpest sword we possess and key to all. Call upon the Goddess Athena to sharpen your mind and fill you with learning!
