ABOUT THE ARTWORK ABOVE
This painting was originally a watercolour of 'Eilean Donan' castle in Scotland. Bats have been digitally added to this scene, inspired by the Goddess Hecate using 'Pixaloop'.

ABOUT THE GODDESS HECATE

Origin: Greek
Attributes; Protects woman and dogs, curses the unjust
Colour/s: Midnight Blue and Burgundy
Symbols: a dog, a torch or two torches
Precious stones: Onyx

Hecate is the ancient dark mother of fate or karma. Call on her to help you come to terms with your shadow side. Without shadow there is no light; she can teach you how to transform your darker feelings and and emotions into deep inner power.

Hecate is a friend to women, children and dogs; she cares for all who need her protection. She will go after anyone who has harmed an innocent.

She is known as the Witch Queen and Goddess of the night. In her hands she holds torches to light the way through the darkness. Her animals are bats, spiders and toads, but she is always seen with her sacred hounds.

Hecate guards the gateways and crossroads. Leave an single flower as an offering for her at a crossroads, whisper her name into the darkness. Ask her for protection and understanding. She is a wonderful friend but a scary enemy - be careful what you wish for!
