ABOUT THE ARTWORK ABOVE
This Magical artwork was created using traditional and digital techniques in praise of the Great Goddess Maat. This ancient method of combining melted wax and pigments to create sacred art dates back to the ancient Egyptian artists.
The purples and blues have been selected to represent the correct magical correspondences for the Goddess Maat. She is the bringer of balance and justice.
A4 sized prints of this piece are available from Kathy's website. They are printed on Fabriano paper and are carefully packaged in a sealed cello bag and posted within 3 working days.

ABOUT THE GODDESS MAAT

Origin: Egypt
Attributes: Justice and karmic balance
Colour: Violet
Symbol: a black feather
Stone: amethyst

The Goddess Maat is an ancient deity from Egypt where she was worshipped for thousands of years as the personification of truth, balance and cosmic justice, She is often recognised by the feather of truth that crowns her forehead.

Egyptian mythology teaches that when a person died they had to be judged by the lord of the underworld. this judging was done by weighing their soul against the feather of truth (Maat). If the two balanced then the person could enter the blessed land.

If you have come to a place in your life where you need divine balance, justice or the light of supreme truth call upon Maat! She cannot bear to see injustice and can help you find the heart of peaceful balance.
