It is also the day for the Goddess Ceridwen.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK ABOVE
Inspired by a magical experience at Silverdale near Lancaster more than a decade ago. This mixed media piece was created at the Beltane full moon 2019.
The painting was created using watercolour, acrylics and marker pens. It is A4 sized and prints of the original are available on Fabriano paper.

If you want inner knowledge, wisdom and to know secret things, invoke the Goddess Ceridwen for she is the mistress of magic and giver of wisdom.
​
Her symbol is the cauldron of inspiration and rejuvenation common in Celtic myths, a vessel of transformation on many levels.
​
The cauldron may be seen as a source of food, a cornucopia of inexhaustible plenty. It is the vessel used to brew the drink of inspiration and poetry, whether mead, beer or wine it is the holy ecstasy and intoxication.
​
In later days it became the tool of the wise woman or witch, where herbal cures and potions bubbled. In Arthurian legends it is present in the form of the holy grail.
