Also for the Goddess Morrigan.
Her colour is blood red, light a red candle and call on her to invite more focus, drive and passion in your life.

Inspired by the Irish Goddess Morrigan, this vibrant watercolour was made during the heatwave of 2019. The colours red, orange and gold were chosen to represent the warmth, passion and vitality of the Morrigan.

The work is A4 sized on top quality Farbriano paper. It has been signed by the artist on the bottom right. It is a mysterious and magical piece, made with love and infused with magic.

ABOUT THE GODDESS MORRIGAN

Origin: Celtic,
Colour; Blood Red
Attributes: Competition and Aggression,
Symbols: Sword or Crow
Jewels: Iron or Steel
Scent: Tobacco or Burning Wood
The Morrigan is the greatest goddess in old Irish mythology and her name means ‘great queen’. Alter forms include Morgan La Fey of the Arthurian legends and Fata Morgana the queen of the faery realms. She is frequently depicted as a triple-goddess which makes her appear stronger to her opponents.

She appears most often as queen of battle, her alter egos are Macha (great queen of phantoms) Nemhain (frenzy) and Badb (Crow or Ravens). These birds that were seen at battlefields were thought to represent her dark messengers.
We call on her proud and noble features to make us stronger, tougher and more confident. She is the goddess of destruction and killing but she is also the goddess of focused power, protecting the weak and defeating oppression, especially against women!
